Version 3 online- November 9th, 2009
This week saw the introduction of IDCAS 3D simulation version 3 as a beta production. Version 2.0 is still being used as a testing base until all bugs have been elliminated fully from the new simulation. At present things look very promising in terms of sim preformance. Tests today have shown our main server to be running at 45 frames per second with nearly no lag presenting itself to the user. This being run on a three quarter filled primulative allowance of aproximately 2000 comes as excellent news for the future of the project. Lower end graphic viewer tests were carried out on a network speed of 50kbps at a 128m draw distance. Due to low numbers of prim present it has been found that a viewer fps averaging as low as 15 works quite well on sim. Minimal loading times experienced at this figure have been encouraged by the spreading out of builds thoughout the sim.
Version 2 Beta- September 10th, 2009
Version two has now been released for public use as beta production. Simulator lag seems to be nearly non-existant. Viewers have reported minor scripting errors but these are being repaired as time progresses.
Version 1 in Alpha Stage – May 2nd, 2009
Work is continuing on the production of both a stable and performance rich platform. A total of just over five hundred primulatives had been allocated to the production of version one. During the last few weeks we have increased that number to just over one thousand three hundred due to its continued success in bringing in user numbers. Version one as it stands is a 3D graphical representation of a gothic style castle which consists of a reception for visitors, office space and surrounding gardens. There is a small village of eight small units and a central courtyard beside the castle which is provided as a training center to our visitors. To date the village has been used for the topics of pharmacy, medical and nursing mentor sessions.
